Re-Brand Maple Avenue PFT

Done in Adobe Illustrator, I originally designed this logo seven years ago for my children’s Elementary School’s Parent/Teacher Group as a donation.  The Board of Directors wanted an update of the old logo, which was a tree, they all had different ideas of what the logo should look like. They had ideas of maple leaves, and trees, as well as the name of the school.  “It’s a better practice to have the client approve or reject an approach at the early stages, at which point you can adjust your design thinking accordingly,” (Dabner et al. 2020, p 27.).    After providing the board with several different ideas of designs including a single bi-colored maple leaf, a ring of maple leaves of varying fall colors with their principle motivating words, they settled the designed variation of the tree of life.  I was never really thrilled with how it turned out, especially the leaves of the tree and the fact that it is a tad off center in places.  In re-visiting the logo several years later, I took the advice to remove the words in the roots, and make the leaves of the tree less busy and recenter the name of the organization to create a better balance.
